Attitude Daksha a Tablet PC from Technopark launched at Rs 5,399

Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) incubated Telmoco Development Labs Pvt. Ltd. forays into the Tablet PC market with the launch of their first product – Attitude Daksha – a 7-inch Tablet variant. Attitude Daksha is touted as the most powerful 7-inch tablet computer for students and professionals in India. The product launch was announced in the presence of Dr.K C Chandrasekharan Nair, Chief Finance Officer- Technopark & Secretary & Registrar- Technopark TBI, and Sreejith S - Technical Officer. Attitude Daksha will be available in the market with in a short period at a cost of Rs.5399 inclusive of all taxes.

 

 


 

With the launch of Attitude Daksha, Telmoco plans to compete in the low-cost tablet PC market where present the government launched Aakash Tablet is prominent. Daksha is way ahead of Aakash 2  in terms of feature and performance. Daksha features Capacitive 5 point touch screen with 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with 512 MB DDR3 RAM. It has a HDMI port, Micro SD slot, 3.5 mm audio out, Micro USB port and having OTG connector for 3G Dongle and RJ 45 LAN cable. Daksha is capable 1080p full HD video streaming and have dedicated 400 MHz GPU for advanced flash Apps, Interactive Apps and full HD videos. Daksha is powered by 3800 mAh Li-Pol battery which gives a back up of over 6 hours with WiFi on.

 

“Its not a low cost device, but a high performance device with low cost. With Daksha, we plan to bid for Aakash 2 because with the Govt subsidy and mass production it can really compete with Aakash 2. Moreover, the product is developed by an incubatee of Technopark, Kerala, which is supported by DST - Govt of India.” said Dr. KCC Nair.

Revenue Med Blue wins Technopark Premier League (TPL)

Revenue Med Blue beat UST Global Blue by 86 runs in the finals of Technopark Premier League (TPL) cricket tournament 2012 held at Technopark. Vishakh of Revenue Med was the player of the tournament. As many as 108 companies participated in the eighth edition of the annual Technopark Cricket Tournament organised every year to promote team spirit amongst the professionals. Employees turned up in strength to view the matches that were played on Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays. Congratulating the winners, Technopark CEO Girish Babu hoped the teams enjoyed the game.

As part of its expanding offshore operations US-based McFadyen Solutions has officially opened its new facility on the twelfth floor of Leela Infopark in Technopark.

 

McFadyen, a leading IT systems integrator that builds large-scale e-Commerce solutions, is investing heavily in its India operations by building a larger space with state-of-the-art facilities to stay ahead in today’s globalized world.

The President and CEO of the company Mr. Tom McFadyen inaugurated the spacious new facility. Infosys announce their second campus in Trivandrum

 

Infosys today announced their plans of setting up a new campus at the Technocity in Thiruvananthapuram. This will be Infosys second SEZ campus in Kerala, the first being in Technopark Phase II, also in Trivandrum. The MoU for the 50 acre campus was signed today between H R Binod, Sr. VP, Infosys and K G Girish Babu, CEO, Technopark in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy, Minister for IT & Industries Shri P K Kunhalikutty and Finance Minister Shri K M Mani, Chief Secretary Shri K Jayakumar, Principal Secretary (IT) Shri P H Kurian, Shri Sunil Jose, Centre Head, Infy-Trivandrum, Shri Abhilash Kumar, Regional Manager, Infosys   Shri M Vasudevan, Senior Manager (Business Development), Shri Gigo Joseph, CEO, InfoPark and other officials of Technopark, Infosys and IT Department.

 

 


 

Giving details of the proposed campus, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Executive Co-Chairman, Infosys said, “Our second campus would employ 10,000 professionals when complete. In the first phase, the centre will have an investment of Rs.180 crore and will seat about 3,500 professionals and the second phase  will be with an investment of Rs.350 crore and  will seat about 6,500 professionals. The total investment will be about Rs.600 crore.”

 

“Trivandrum is our fastest growing centre with about 40% growth and contributed Rs.610 crore in our total exports last year. The fourth and final building in our first campus will be complete in the next 12-18 months and we will continue to expand in Trivandrum with our new campus. We are very happy that Infosys contributed about 20% to Kerala IT exports during 2010-11”, he added.   He also added that the services provided by Technopark has been excellent and said Kerala companies has to move forward to product development.

 

In his comments, the IT Minister Shri P K Kunhalikutty said that Kerala now has a representation from all major IT companies and Infosys’ second campus is a sign of development here. There will be considerable employment generation and growth opportunities for the IT industry in the State.

Complementing Infosys on their decision to start their second campus in Trivandrum, Shri Oommen Chandy said that Shri A K Antony has taken the initiative to bring Infosys into Technopark.  Shri Antony visited Infosys Bangalore and had discussions with Shri Narayanamurthy and Shri Kris Gopalakrishnan.  He assured all support to Infosys for their second campus.

 

Infosys currently employs 4,400 professionals across its two development centres in Technopark campus and their own campus which is also spread over 50 acres. Infosys started its Kerala operations in 2004.
