7-year blemishless record in IT  

Kerala was rated 8th out of 18 States on 'Labor' by CII in a study carried out in September 2000. This was based on objective parameters. Since the new government took over in Kerala in March - April 2001, the reform process has accelerated with specific legislation.

Regulatory Framework

• Three shift working permitted
• Women working between 10 PM and 7 AM permitted
• IT and ITES Industries declared 'Public Utility Service'
• Self-certification in respect of 9 Acts
• Exemption in respect of flexi-time, i.e. 'opening and closing hours', 'spread over', 'weekly offs', and 'working hours'
