Tournament Rules

  

The tournament shall be known as Technopark Cricket Tournament 2007.The tournament will be conducted on league cum knockout basis.

if any company wants to field more than one team,the second or third team will be considered only after giving accommodation to the first team of all applicants.The team should consist of 11 members only.  ID cards of players shall be submitted to the organizers for verification. A fee of Rs.800/- is required to be paid for registration which is non refundable.

The venue of the match shall be the ground near the M Squared Building in the campus.

.Initial round will be played on league basis.
There will be 23 groups comprising of 3 teams playing against each other.
Winners will go through to the knock out round.

Matches shall be held on Saturdays  Sundays and other Public Holidays starting from 27th October 2007 . Match fixture shall not be changed under any circumstances.

.League round matches will be of 10 overs a side basis with a maximum of 2 overs to each bowler.
 In the Knock out round, Matches other than final and semifinal will be of 15 overs a side.
 Final and semifinal will be of 20 overs a side. In normal circumstances, four 15 over matches will be played in a day.

If a team fails to report even after 30 minutes of the scheduled time, the opponents will be given a walk over.  

In case of Foot fault no ball ,Free hit will be given to the bats man in the ball following the no ball. In case of Tie/no result/abandonment in a Knock out match winner will be decided using bowl out method.

In league round, winner will get 2 points while loser will not get any points. In case a match ends in a tie 1 point each will be awarded to both the teams.If more than one team is having the same no.of points pool winner will be decided on the basis of better Net run rate{ie (Total Runs made /Total overs played) –(Total Runs given /Total Overs Bowled)} 

I If there is any loss of time during playing hours, the overs will be re-arranged proportionately by the umpires in consultation with the organizers.

If the rearrangement is done while a side is batting second, the target will also be reset by multiplying the overall run rate of the team batting first by the total number of overs available to them.

    1. While calculating 1/3rd of total overs, fractions will be rounded off to the next higher number.

    2. If the team batting 2nd has not completed 1/3rd of the total overs, the result will be decided by the toss of coin, if not decided otherwise by the organizers.  

If the ball passes or would have passed above the shoulder level of the batsman standing upright, either of the umpires shall call and signal no ball.  

In case no ball / wide is called, one extra run will be added to the total even if runs are scored otherwise of that delivery.  

 In an innings ,a bowler can bowl a maximum of 1/5th of the total number of overs. In case the overs are re-arranged in an innings to a number not divisible by 5,a bowler can bowl a maximum of 1/5th of the next higher number divisible by 5.

Above  Clause  is applicable for the matches in which the number of overs are reduced during the second innings.  

All the players should wear shoes while playing with proper dress i.e.,  Pants with T- Shirt

In case a match is stopped in between an over, the run rate will be the runs scored per ball

Balls will be provided by the organizers.  

Umpires will be appointed by the organizers.  

Disputes will be settled by the organizers in consultation with the umpires.  

Protests, if any, should be lodged within one hour after the completion of the match with a fee of Rs. 500/-, refundable only if the protest is found to be valid.  

The organizers reserves the right to frame/change/modify any of the rules at any stage of the tournament, if found necessary.  

Prior permission is required for erecting banners and stalls in the ground.
