About the Role – Lead Information Architect


Binary Fountain’s Product and Engineering team is looking for a talented


Lead Information Architect who will be a leader in his/her field. Being a thought leader and a seasoned practitioner, the candidate should have experience in delivering different types of Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing solutions (Batch, Near Real Time, Real Time) to solve complex and challenging business problems across business domains and have sufficient experience in manipulating both structured and unstructured data.


In this role, the candidate will provide thought leadership, be hands-on with respect to design and development while leading and mentoring a small team of engineers engaged in the delivery of cutting-edge reporting modules.  The candidate will participate in deliberating upon and finalizing technology for reporting for various products across Binary Fountain’s product portfolio. The candidate will be expected to promulgate scalable and sustainable technology architectures to solve business challenges and assure successful delivery of product functionality. 


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Creates a robust, highly performant, sustainable architecture that supports reporting/dashboard requirements and provides for future scalability
  • Evaluates and selects various data tools and visualization components
  • Provides key input to stakeholders to assist with buy versus build decisions
  • Directs and supervises multiple engineers responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of BI/reporting modules for the platform
  • Oversees the design of the data and technical architecture for the data warehouse
  • Oversees the development of logical and physical data models, ETL scripts, metadata definitions and models, queries and reports, schedules, work processes and maintenance procedures
  • Ensures proper documentation of the architecture and key technical decisions that will allow for easy maintenance of the modules
  • Ensures proper backup and recovery processes are in place to ensure business continuity in case of system failure


Preferred skills



The ideal candidate will meet and / or exceed the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years development and architecture experience in the design and deployment of full lifecycle terabyte size data warehouses
  • Experience in building and deployment of Near Real Time & Real Time BI/DW systems
  • Extensive knowledge of BI / DW technologies, tools and their use in practice
  • Experience of managing the benchmarking, evaluation and selection process of BI / DW tools and technologies
  • Data modeling, database administration, and performance tuning
  • Technical/Project Management and leadership of delivery teams
  • SQL, ETL, OLAP, Metadata management, Use-case analysis, Conceptual and analytic skills, Knowledge of business domain, balancing theory and practical reality
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Leads technical/product discussions with team and product/program managers
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud architecture
