TalentTrac is a competency assessment program for the IT and ITES industry, aimed at bringing together Industry, Government and Academia to increase the employability of the existing talent pool.

The objectives of the program are:

• To identify and map the existing talent pool in Kerala for the IT and ITES sectors. 

• To develop targeted training programs to bridge gaps identified. 

• To showcase this talent database to the industry and attract them to either recruit from/invest in Kerala. 

For candidates, this competency assessment will provide an in-depth analysis of their skills for the IT and ITES sector. Different areas in ITES need different skill sets, and this assessment will provide the candidates with the necessary orientation, as to which area in ITES they are best suited for.

• The target group for this test is students graduating this year, in addition to those who have already graduated.

• The test is conducted online, and will be of 90 minutes duration. Few machines in each center should be equipped with sound cards and microphones, as spoken English skill will also be assessed.

For ITES, the test is divided into 2 parts:

• Compulsory Sections:
  a. Verbal Ability, Quantitative and Analytical skills, Mental Application. (1 hr)
  b. Voice Analysis, Typing skills. (10 min)

• Optional Sections:
  a. Computer Familiarity (½ hr)
  b. Basic Accounting (½ hr)

This unique initiative shall serve the interests of the unemployed youth of Kerala who will now stand to receive industry standard feedback on their relative individual skills' rating and where the skills are most relevant and in demand. Further, this initiative will spur industry to consider investing in Kerala on account of the access to a quality talent pool (made available through Technopark). And, thirdly, it will provide feedback to the university system on its strengths and possible areas for improvement.
