RS. 997.65 CRORE PROJECT APPROVED

The Govt. of Kerala approved projects worth Rs 997.65 crore for the development of Technopark in the next five years on 25th August 2015. After the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy said that the amount for the next five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20, would be spent on developing infrastructure, land acquisition and marketing of Phase I, Phase II and Phase III of Technopark and Technocity and Technopark Kollam. The amount includes Rs 69 crore for 2015-16 while Rs 285 crore would be released for 2016-17, Rs 205 crore for 2017-18, Rs 211 crore for 2018-19 and Rs 208 crore for 2019-20.

And that was a massive success again. We couldn’t think of a better way to imbibe the true spirit of Onam. Whole lot of heartfelt thanks to those great minds who step forward in this noble mission of promising a sumptuous onam feast to needy.
When OnaNanma gifted huge amount of rice and other edibles to a large group of around 180 families in association with Gandhi Samarak Nidhi, they were bursting in the joy of this grand feast. Those smiles on the face of those innocent kids were the real bliss and reward of the entire event.
Technopark in association with Kerala Gandhi Samark Nidhi, Thycaud, Trivandrum arranged "OnaNanma" disbursing on 25th August 2015 at 4 pm in the presence of children with their parents along with Gandhi Samark Nidhi volunteers and Technopark authorities from Park Centre and representatives from IT community within Technopark. 5kg of rice was given to each family, along with 1kg of sugar, jaggery, payasa kit and whole lot of stuffs as green gram, berseem, dal etc.
Once again we express our sincere thanks to Prathidhwani, Prakruthi, Natana, Tejus and all other cultural organizations whose support made this event a remarkable one. Wish you all a very happy and prosperous Onam.

CM DISTRIBUTES START-UP BOXES

The state Government is working on a master plan to create a billion dollar campus startups in the near future, said Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy on 12th August 2015.
The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the distribution of Startup Boxes to the 50 young mobile application developers as part of the Youth Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) 2015, of which the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is the implementing agency.

KERALA ROAD SAFETY HACKATHON CONCLUDES

The first ever road safety hackathon came to an end on Sunday at Technopark, Trivandrum. The event saw the coming together pf young techies to develop software/hardware solutions to mitigate road accidents in the state. The event was organised by Kerala road safety authority in association with state transport department, World Bank Group and AXA insurance.
Over two hundred youngsters participated in the 36 hour non-stop coding event that showcased a bunch of ideas and products for bringing down the accidents in the state. In the software category, the award was given to the team consisting of two techies, Jikku Jose and Rakesh B S , for the ideation and development of a solution called ‘Third Eye’. They developed the back end of a GPS-like system associated with the police control room so that any person with a mobile phone can alert the nearby police through sending an SMS in a specific format.

INFOSYS WHITE CHAMPS IN CORPORATE FUTSAL CUP 2015

Infosys White championed by a score of 2-1 against Infosys Black, at Technopark, Trivandrum's most prestigious Futsal Tournament, Corporate Futsal Cup 2015, which was conducted for Techies at the Sportz4you arena, Technopark Club, on August 10, 2015.

KSUM TO JOIN HANDS WITH INTEL

The Kerala Start-Up Mission (KSUM) is joining hands with Intel Technology India to launch the Kerala chapter of Intel Tech Challenge, an innovation-in-education programme for school students. Designed for students between classes 9 to 12. The three-month long challenge has four phases: online ideation workshop, submission of the synopsis, Makeathon and the finale. The winners of the Kerala challenge will get a direct entry to the Intel® Tech Challenge - India, a national-level platform showcasing young ideas and innovations, to be held in December 2015. Students can apply to the online workshop through the official website of KSUM from August 25.
