NATIONAL YOUTH DAY @ TECHNOPARK
National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. Since 1985, the event was celebrated throughout India every year. This year, Vivekananda Study Circle – the socio-cultural organization of Technopark, Trivandrum and Bodheswaran Foundation jointly celebrated the National Youth Day ‘Vande Vivekanandam’ in Technopark at Travancore Hall on 12th January 2016 at 6 PM. Shri P Vijayan IPS DIG of Police was the Chief Guest for the event. Dr Rajeev Nair Professor, University of Kerala and Sri Hari S Kartha, Professor, Dept of Visual Media & Communication spoke about National Youth Celebrations and Sri K G Girish Babu CEO Technopark facilitated the event of celebrations. The artists of Bodheswaran Foundation recited the poems of Swami Vivekananda.

THINK CLEAN SHORT FILM CONTEST
Doordarshan Kendra Thiruvananthapuram has joined hands with Total Sanitation Mission to organise a short film contest named THINK CLEAN on various themes under Swacch Bharath Mission and Total Sanitation Campaign. Registration is open to all.
Film competition categories are:
1. Inspiring, real-life stories of ordinary people who have made a difference to the environment (up to 5 min duration)
2. Films that interestingly educate and empower ordinary people (up to 2 min duration)
3. Commercials that create awareness on the ill effects of poor waste management that motive people to compost at source, collect recyclables in clean and dry form, manage liquid waste responsibly etc (up to 20 to 30 second)
4. Animation films, mobile films and films of any other genre produced with broadcast quality can participate in this contest.

TP FOOTBALL CARNIVAL- GOAL VII
The Technopark, Trivandrumfootball carnival –Goal VII sponsored by UST Global has kick started the matches on 9th January 2016 at Greenfield stadium, Kariavattom. IT companies including Suntech, Pits, Tata ELXSI, EY, Quest Global, RR Donelley, IBS, M-Squared, Infosys, D+H, McFayden, Flip, Speridian, Allianz, TCS, Tryzens, Creace Technologies, Kreara Solutions and UST Global have registered as contenders.
Technopark Premier League (TPL) 2016, the annual cricket tournament of Technopark, Trivandrum, will commence from the third week of January for a span of 3-4 months. The tournament is open for all companies operating inside Technopark. More than 100 companies participate in this corporate cricket tournament every year. Sportz4you, Kerala’s premier Community Sports Management Company is organising the Tournament.

SWM, A REPLICABLE ROLE MODEL
Solid waste management plant at Technopark, Trivandrum is now a replicable role model even to the foreign nationals Miss. Jennifer Nausch and Mr. Goethe Zentrum from German cultural centre who visited the plant run by CREDAI Clean City Movement and appreciated the best performance for the plant. The Program Manager Mr. Simon Cherian explained about the functioning of the plant.
MALGUDY DAYS
Technopark, Trivandrum professionals, Dr Vivek Sreekumar, Vishak and Vinod, who are brothers as well, have taken the time and effort to produce and direct the movie, ‘Malgudy Days’. Anoop Menon and Bhama play the lead roles in this film.
The music and choreography perfected by the Allianz employees, Dr. Praveen and Dr. Harish, have once again proved that we’ve got it all; be it music or dance! The background score has been mastered by Vishnu Thulaseedharan working in Allianz. One of the songs has been sung by Aby Jacob of Mc Fadyen solutions and Kshama of UST global. It’s noteworthy that almost 40% of the production costs have been borne by the never-ending line of Techies who are colleagues of the brothers.
Not often do we come across people who pour in their heart and soul to follow their passion. It’s endearing to know that even in this age of the rat race and scurry to climb up the ladder, we have a few people who still follow their heart. In the end, as the saying goes, ‘We do not regret the chances that we took; we only regret those we failed to take’.
