Of Crimson Yellows ‼
Come April and the daily travel to office was a feast to the eyes…with splashes of greens, crimson and yellows. The alternating “Flame of the forest” and the “Golden Shower trees” is a sight to behold. The half an hour journey through the bypass from Chakai to Technopark was a visual treat during the months from April to June. The Gulmohar with its flamboyant display of crimson flowers and the Kanikonna (as it is locally called) with its bright sunshine yellow flowers were those that any Techie looks forward to on their daily travel to work. The canopy of greens with bursts of bright red and yellow sure gave the feeling that we have suddenly been transported to a faraway land. Witnessing this year after year, I’d realized that right before the fading away of the bright bloom of yellow showers heralding Vishu, the crimson magic appears to take its place and linger on long after the yellows are gone.
Was it a deliberate design by man or a divine work of art that the trees fell so beautifully in place, alternating crimson and yellow….your guess is as good as mine!‼! However it came to be, I am positive it did bring smiles to the face of every passers by and made every heart hum a soulful melody. All good things come to an end, as the saying goes…while development has wiped away this seasonal glee, I sure do hope the flames of crimson yellows come back to bloom soon, in the near future.
