BUDGET ALLOCATION FOR KERALA IT

Rs.750 crore allocation has been announced for Technopark, Trivandrum as a part of the first budget presentation of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF Government. The budget has also kept in mind smaller IT parks being developed at Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod and Koratty who will receive funds amounting to Rs.58 crore. A scheme will be made available through the Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC) to promote startups. Of the 1325 crores earmarked for the IT expansion, the budget has also allocated Rs.225 crore for a 3.4 lakh sq ft building in Technology Innovation Zone(TIZ) in Kalamassery, Kochi; Rs.100 crore for the first two lakh sq ft building at the proposed Technocity in Pallipuram on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram and Rs.100 crores for building the Cyberpark at Kozhikode.

A biannual mock fire and evacuation drill was held on 7th july at Technopark, Trivandrum.

MEET THE MENTOR

The Kerala Startup Mission hosted a session on 'How to write a business plan' at the Thejaswini building in Technopark, Trivandrum on the evening of 8th July. Rajesh Nair, Director - Head Kochi Location , Ernst & Young LLP and President - TiEGlobal - Kerala Chapter, who has more than two decades of experience in advising and managing assignments across organisations across over twenty industries and sectors lead the session.

MARKETING STRATAGIES FOR STARTUPS

A session on Marketing Strategies for startups was held on 11th july 2016 at the Meet up Cafe of Kerala Startup Mission introducing Maxus, a global media agency with over 2,700 people in 70 offices across 55 markets.

QUARTER-FINALS OF 7’S

The quarter-finals of the inter-company Prathidhwani 7s football tournament at Technopark, Trivandrum will take place July 16. 56 teams from 50 companies signed up and took part in 64 matches from 8 teams emerged victorious and qualified for the quarter-finals. The 8 qualifying teams are Infosys Blacks, UST Global Reds, IBS, Creace technologies, Tataelxsi, Envestnet, Infosys Whites and UST Global Blues. The tournament semi-finals will be held on July 19.
