Junior Database Developer
Brief description :
- Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing database programs
- Actively participating in Database cloud migration activities (AWS RDS)
- Database performance tuning & Query Optimization
- Participating in database development activities for designing new database programs that meet the organization's business needs
- Monitoring databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance
- Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance
- Keeping abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering
Preferred skills
- Working with AWS Services: DMS, SCT, RDS, Aurora, Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda
- Experience in database design and development
- Experience in SQL Server Development (SQL server 2016 & above)
- Experience in high availability database systems
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving and time management
- Exposure to basic DBA tasks
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Masters in Computer Application with 2 to 4 years experience in DB developer role in a complex environment.
- 2 - 4 years as a Database Developer or Database Engineer or similar role is required
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 & above)
- Experience with SSIS packages/ETL process
- Experience with programming languages such as Python 3.x or NodeJS or C#
- Knowledge of IaaS (Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation).
- Knowledge of AWS database migration software and technologies (DMS, SCT etc)
- Knowledge of the various types of data stores such as relational, data warehouse, file stores etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in Coding/Debugging T-SQL programs
- Exposure towards NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB, Solr etc.) and RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL) (Good to Have)
- Experience migrating databases from on-prem to cloud or running in a hybrid cloud environment. (Good to Have)
