1) Nissan Digital India LLP- Nissan Digital Hub @ Technocity
On June 29, 2018 – Technopark has signed an MoU with Nissan Motor Corporation with the support of State Government for allotting space & land to Japanese automotive major to set up its digital innovation hub in Technocity. The digital hub will be a research and development facility that will be shared by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, a Franco-Japanese strategic partnership. Nissan’s digital hub will function as the nerve centre of the company’s research in electric and automated vehicles. Signed the MoU for 30 acres of land in the first phase and another 40 acres in the second phase. This is the fifth digital hub of Nissan coming up in Trivandrum after Yokohama in Japan, China, Paris and Nashville in US.
Nissan chose Kerala to set up its digital innovation hub owing to multiple factors like - talent pool in IT and engineering; airport connectivity; cost effectiveness; quality of life, social
amenities; lack of traffic problems; and based on the positive feedback from the successful IT companies at Technopark. The company has started its operations in 25,000 sq.ft space (Feb 2019) in Yamuna building in the Technopark Phase III campus as well as other Co-Developer space (Oct 2018).
Nissan’s digital innovation hub will host a team of engineers & scientists, working to create innovations in automated and electronic vehicles space. The company will be initiating Research & Development work in Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive analytics, Machine learning and other Digital technologies. On setting up operations the company is expected to generate 3000
direct and multi times indirect employment opportunities. This campus will be named as ‘Nissan Knowledge City’.
2) Brigade Group signs MOU with Technopark, Government of Kerala for developing World Trade Center Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvananthapuram, February 27, 2019:- Brigade Group, one of India’s leading developer announced the signing of an MOU with Technopark, Government of Kerala, for developing an iconic World Trade Center, Thiruvananthapuram (WTC) at Technocity, a 300 acre IT campus. WTC Thiruvananthapuram is being set up on a 13 acre site at Technocity. The iconic building is proposed to be part of a larger mixed use development, with allied facilities including hotel, serviced apartments, hostel (men & Women) for working professionals and neighbourhood retail and entertainment. The total development will be 2.5 million sq.ft. The project will generate employment for 15,000 people.
Brigade Group holds WTC licenses for all the major cities in South India viz. Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad. WTC Bengaluru and WTC Kochi are already operational, while WTC Chennai will be launched by the end of the year.
World Trade Centers, are licensed members of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), New York. There are over 300 members in nearly 100 countries. WTC Thiruvananthapuram will showcase to an international audience the strengths of the region and state in different economic sectors, such as IT/ITeS, Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Bio Technology, Healthcare and others.
